Rebuild ECC School

Keeping updated

With the extensive damage to public and private property in the islands, we recommend you like and follow the ECC Facebook page so that you can be updated when more information becomes available. A damage assessment, reconstruction costs and appeal for further aid will be published in due course. Presently teachers, students and families are focused on basic survival as the government aids the resettlement and clean up efforts. Don’t forget to share with your friends.

MakING a Donation

Extensive damage across Abaco has also hit the community of Marsh Harbour very hard, including the buildings, gardens, equipment and infrastructure of Every Child Counts school. You can help with a donation of any amount in our $100,000 GoFundMe campaign to contribute to the innumerable costs to restore the school to a thriving and uplifting place for the students and families of Abaco.

Thank you in advance for your support!

This nonprofit arts organization has the mission “to inspire and transform lives through innovative, music-based programming”, and over the two years of filming, we saw them clearly making huge changes in the lives of students at ECC. The Canadian Connections.

The Canadian Connections.

Given the cold Canadian winters, it’s not surprising that the Bahamas with its warm island breezes and friendly inhabitants attracts so many Canadians. Several of these “snowbirds” arrived on the doorstep of the EVERY CHILD COUNTS school to become either teachers or volunteers and supporters.  (more…)

Thank You All So Much!

Thank You All So Much!

I was inspired to make this film about this amazing school in Abaco by my friend Mavis Payne. Mavis and her husband John had moored their sailboat in the harbour at Hopetown for many years, under the watchful eye of Truman Major and they became good friends with him and his wife, Lyn. When Lyn decided to start up the school Every Child Counts, Mavis and John became big supporters. Mavis suggested I make a film to tell the touching story of how it all began and the amazing effect it has had on the community.  (more…)
